In 2007 Exlar introduced the GSM Series Actuators as the successor to the SR Series. The differences between the GSM and the SR Series of actuators is shown below. For the details associated with these differences see the links at the bottom of this page or go to GSM overview. Please note that only previously manufactured configurations of SR Series are supported and sold.

Feature GSM SR
Connectors In-line for all sizes Side-by-side on SR31 and SR41
Length Shorter For clevis mounting with the same pin to pin distance as the SR Series, select "Z" as the mounting option
Width The GSM30 is narrower than the SR31 Side and trunnion mounting dimensions on the GSM30 are narrower than the SR31. The GSM20 and GSM40 side and trunnion mounting dimensions are the same as the SR21 and SR41
Backlash 0.008" (0.2 mm) 0.004" (0.1mm)
Coatings Anodized Anodized end caps, epoxy coated motor case

Excellent Ball Screw Replacement

The SR Series of linear actuators from Exlar povides a cost effective solution, perfect for replacing ball screw actuators. This compact design incorporates Exlar's patented roller screw technology with an integral brushless servo motor for medium to high performance motion control applications. The SR Series offers a completely integrated actuator, competitively priced with low performance, short-lived ball screw actuators. The SR design provides a smaller package with higherspeed and load capacity than ball screws and other traditional rotary to linear conversions. SR Series also offers 5 times the travel life of similarly sized ball screw actuators. Selection of the proper feedback configuration allows SR Series actuators to be powered by nearly every brand of brushless motor amplifier on the market. This flexibility allows SR Series actuators to be incorporated into the highest performance single and multi-axis motion control systems in use today. In applications varying from food and beverage packaging, to multi-axis turning centers to air-craft assembly, the SR Series of actuators show incredible performance and durability.
