ECO/Quality Documentation Administrator
Primary Objective of Position:
Process, review, and implement ECOs in accordance with Exlar Corporation policies and procedures. Administer the processing of changes to other Exlar Quality documents and records.
Major Areas of Accountability:
A. ECO Administration
1. Process ECOs according to Exlar’s standard operating procedure, including performing computer aided drafting in SolidWorks and AutoCAD of the company's engineering and production models and drawings. Communicate with engineering, production and other required sources to effectively process and implement ECOs.
2. Maintain ECO documentation and log in accordance with Exlar document control procedures.
3. Assume a leadership role in assuring the ECO system meets the company’s needs as well as in the continuous improvement of the process.
B. Quality Documentation Administration
1. Process and maintain controlled documents and records in accordance with Exlar policies and procedures, including maintaining corresponding records and logs as required.
2. Perform documentation and other Quality functional duties as required and directed by the Quality Manager. This will include, but not be limited to:
• Processing CAPAs and deviations
• Processing and maintaining company SOPs
C. Quality Operations Support
1. Assist technicians and engineers as needed and directed. This could include, but not be limited to:
• Serving as a backup to inspection and test personnel
• Performing computer aided drafting for production tooling, fixtures, etc.
• Supporting Quality and other regulatory audits.
2. Stay technically current on drafting hardware, software, techniques and standards.
Qualifications:
• Successful completion of a 2-year technical drafting program or Associate Design degree is required; including SolidWorks, or equivalent training.
• A minimum of 2 years work experience in a CAD drafting position. AutoCAD experience is also helpful.
• Ability and desire to work in a "hands on" capacity to provide technician and production assistance.
• Familiarity and competency with Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong communication skills, including technical writing.
• A detail oriented approach.
• Familiarity with ECO processing and document control procedures is preferred.
Embedded Software Engineer
Our Engineering group is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join our product development team. This person will have proven experience with real-time control systems and will collaborate with developers, product managers and customers in the development of new software features and applications. In addition, this individual will assist in the preparation and documentation of requirements and specifications; create efficient, high performance designs and code; create test plans; and assist in testing. Other responsibilities include researching and applying the latest technologies in motion control and industrial network communications.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years experience in developing industrial real-time applications. They must have a proven record of completing projects on time and to specification. In addition, they will have experience with motor / motion control, and CAN, DeviceNet or TCP/IP. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
Regional Sales Manager
Primary Objective of Position:
Lead the sales effort within the assigned territory including the activity of Independent Representatives and Distributors in the region. Generate new orders for the Company’s products and services to meet the region’s booking and shipment goals established each year. Identify, pursue, and establish large OEM and end use customers to increase shipping volume of the company’s products.
Major Areas of Accountability:
1. Establish and provide leadership for the region’s Independent Sales Representatives, distributors, and resellers who sell the company’s products. Make final decision on adding and terminating distributors and resellers is the region (this is not a Representative prerogative). And assure contracts are kept current and property communicated.
2. Develop a regional sales plan that when executed meets or exceeds the region’s sales objectives.
3. Ensure that all representatives and distributors prepare annual sales plans, including forecasts by major historic customers within assigned territory. Create and implement strategies to achieve sales growth in each account.
4. Assure that all representatives, distributors and resellers adhere to current sales policies which apply.
5. Assure that Area Sales Planning sheets are kept up to date and list only active Distributors, Resellers, historic and target customers.
6. Make regularly scheduled joint sales calls with representatives and distributors to assess performance and provide guidance.
7. Implement an effective target account development programs with each sales representative with responsibility to sell Exlar products.
8. Keep abreast of distributor activity in the region. Review performance annually with each distributor and develop mutually agreed upon goals and objectives for the coming year. Add and terminate distributors as necessary to achieve regional sales growth and fully penetrate target markets in the region.
9. Keep current on all Exlar products from a technical, application, pricing and selling benefits standpoint. Train Representative and distributor as needed to assure that sales channels are fully capable of selling, applying, and supporting Exlar products.
10. Develop and implement a strategy for sales prospecting. Perform Regional Industry and account research via the internet and industrial directories.
11. Develop and maintain his/her own target account base. Acquire information, required to prepare sales proposals and present them to customers.
12. Develop knowledge of competitive products and strategy for competing. Keep Marketing and Management abreast of all competitive activity and market development in the region.
13. Recommend changes and improvements to corporate business strategies and commercial policies.
14. Identify and coordinate all activity associated regional trade shows and ensure follow-up on all leads for the region.
15. Submit by Monday AM an email with a completed weekly call report summarizing all previous weeks sales calls with customers, whether alone or with rep and/or distributors. Also include summaries of other important activity as needed to keep factory abreast and involved in support of the RSM’S activity. Clearly document which calls comprise of customers visits.
16. Join and remain in good standing as a member of a professional organization (including active membership in the local ISA chapter) that represents a significant industry that Exlar serves in the region.
17. Submit Expense reports in a timely, accurate and clearly recorded manner. Keep expenses in line with budget for region.
18. Participate as requested in the annual sales planning process by creating plans strategies and forecast for all sales entities in the region. Present up to date plans, strategies, and results at corporate meetings as requested.
Examples of Performance Criteria:
• Submitted complete sales forecast and plan on time
• Exceeded new order projections
• Presented results at semi annual sales meeting.
• Held training sessions for key distributors
• Kept expenses below budget limits
Supervisory Responsibility:
Up to ten Area Sales Managers and/or Independent Sales Representatives.
Qualifications (Educational, Professional, Physical):
• Four year technical engineering degree, BSEE or BSME required or equivalent job experience.
• A minimum of five years selling and applying industrial automation products or drives preferred. A minimum of three years of management experience also preferred.
• Overnight travel (50%) as required to optimize regional partner performance.
